Tell me about petrol Skoda timing belts...

How reliable are the timing belts on the 2015 Skoda Octavia 1.2 petrol TSI? How often should they be changed? Any issues with timing belt on new 1.0 TSI?

I need a larger automobile for my golfing needs!

I currently drive a 2008 Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion. I would like to change to a automobile that is higher off the ground. I need a boot big enough to hold golf club and caddy, but not looking for a big expensive SUV. Does the new Golf fit with these conditions? I also would like an automatic; what makes do you recommend please?

Kind regards

Angela

Is a high-mileage Skoda Octavia ok?

Would a 2005 Skoda Octavia diesel with 290,000km on the clock still be a good buy? The automobile is in excellent condition body-wise and has had the timing belt changed twice as well as the clutch and turbo done. It drives very well and I am told they are very economical. If it is looked after will it do up to 500K kilometres or more?

Is this petrol BMW 5 Series too cheap?

Hi,

I am thinking of purchasing a second hand 2004 BMW 520 2.2 petrol for €5,500 with 91k on the clock. When I compare similar models same year for sale they are minimum €6k more expensive. Am I missing something or just getting a good deal? Just an opinion please.

Thanks, J
