What would you choose betweeen 2010 Volvo XC90, Audi Q7 and Land Rover Discovery? Reliability; safety; and family functionality are the main criteria. I know all would have high running and service costs in particular the Disco and Q7. Image isn't important to me! I have 16, 15 and 6-year-olds and new baby soon, and a nutcase of a labrador havs to be accomodated!

I bought a 2006 Citroen C3 two years ago (paid €5.6K, one owner, low mileage) and noticed recently that it was slipping out of gear when in first. Having had the garage look at it, they said the gearbox would need to be replaced fully (costing approx €1,000). It is also leaking coolant and needs the head gasket replaced. Total estimated bill approx €1,500-2,000. Is this reasonable? Are we right to be annoyed as the automobile has only 64,000km on it?
Thanks in advance

I currently drive a 2008 Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion. I would like to change to a automobile that is higher off the ground. I need a boot big enough to hold golf club and caddy, but not looking for a big expensive SUV. Does the new Golf fit with these conditions? I also would like an automatic; what makes do you recommend please?

Would a 2005 Skoda Octavia diesel with 290,000km on the clock still be a good buy? The automobile is in excellent condition body-wise and has had the timing belt changed twice as well as the clutch and turbo done. It drives very well and I am told they are very economical. If it is looked after will it do up to 500K kilometres or more?
