I've found a 2002 Ford Fiesta with 87,000 kilometres on the clock. It's a 1.2-litre engine, timing belt done, looks and drives great, it's from a garage and well looked after. It has a Donegal registration, but came from Scotland at some stage. The automobile will be used as a second automobile to do light driving. I would be grateful for your expert opinion.

I am interested in a 2008 Kia Sorento. I have been told by a mechanic he would never buy a Kia or Hyundai as they are substandard and Japanese automobiles are way better. We are aware it has a big engine (which we don't need to be honest), but we can't find a automobile we both like for approximately €10k and this seems to be the compromise position. Have you a view on the Kia Sorento, as all my online research has made me quite positive about it, but the mechanic I was speaking to is worrying me? We are down to one automobile so prompt response appreciated.

We have a very narrow driveway (1,800mm at the widest) and are looking for a four-door city automobile that will fit. On top of that, we're expecting a baby so are looking for an ISOFIX system and space for a buggy. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking of trading in my 2009 Subaru Impreza Diesel shortly. I'm looking at the new entry-level Opel Astra GTC. My automobile was an ex-demo, has 60,000 kilometres on the clock, is the middle spec edition (Xenons, sports seats etc.) and is in excellent condition with full service history. There are not many diesel Imprezas around and I'm finding it hard to put a value on it. Would it be reasonable to expect a trade-in allowance of €12K against the new automobile which is priced around €22K?

Audi A4 2.5 quattro, 2002 model: anything I should look out for?
Very interested in buying one of these; it has 130,000 miles on the clock but is a local family automobile and well maintained in the local Volkswagen garage. I don't drink myself so I am willing to let the Audi do the drinking! And I know about tax and tyres etc but I love driving so I don't mind that, just wondering if there are any majorly costly pitfalls with these automobiles as the one I had nearly purchased last week blew its fan before I arrived to drive it and that's going to cost the guy €1,300 - so I had a lucky escape!
