What's the news?
The Joe Duffy Group has confirmed that it has completed the purchase of a 10-acre site for development at Airside in Swords, Co. Dublin. Airside is already home to several dealerships belonging to the group, including new Kia, Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover showrooms. The new site is described as "strategically important for the Joe Duffy Group" by its CEO, Gavin Hydes.
He went on to say: "This addition to our property portfolio in Airside demonstrates our commitment and confidence in the industry and our strategy to continue providing first class facilities for our customers. This further investment will provide an opportunity for our people and also see further job creation over the next three years. Airside is a dedicated automobile buyer's hub, and Swords is a growing town in our North Dublin heartland. The purchase of this ten acres in Swords will increase our presence in Airside Retail Park, where we currently represent Volvo, Kia, Volkswagen Automobiles, Volkswagen Commercials, Jaguar and Land Rover. While we have not finalised our plans for this land yet, no doubt we will be providing more sales, aftersales and other ancillary operations."
By acquiring the new development site the Joe Duffy Group claims to be currently the fastest growing retail motor group in the country. At present, it has a total of 12 dealerships representing 15 brands. Over the last three years it has increased its employment numbers by more than 50 per cent to a number that currently stands at 410.
